The award is in recognition of the £6.5m Project Wear initiative to enhance recycled fibre-based product quality at the company’s Knowsley plant through the installation of new sorting and cleaning technology.
“This improves our green credentials and reinforces the fact that Project Wear is a winner,” said Sonae UK managing director Tony Hackney.
Last last year, Sonae UK won the VALPAK award for best investment of PRN funds – again for the Project Wear initiative.
