Chipboard manufacturer Sonae UK has been included in the Sunday Times’ top 50 “Best Green Companies”.
The Knowsley-based company was rated 35th on the list, published yesterday in the Sunday Times.
The overall top spot went to coffin manufacturer JC Atkinson and Son, which uses plantation-grown timber and has rainwater harvesting facilities and a biomass boiler.
Sonae UK’s sales and marketing director Dave Chapman said the recognition was the company’s third major environmental award in three years.
