Organisers of the successful London Softwood Club (LSC) lunches have had to implement a ticket allocation system for the Christmas function because of expected high demand from members.

LSC president Steve Jones said the continued success of the club’s functions meant it was also considering alternative venues for future events.

The club’s lunches at the Charing Cross Hotel provide networking opportunities for softwood traders, as well as a wide range of UK and international speakers to inform members about a wide variety of issues and market developments in the softwood trade.

A maximum of four tickets per member company will be allocated.

If the event is still oversubscribed then tickets will be allocated on a discretionary basis dependent on members’ attendance at previous LSC lunches in 2010. Normally 150 people attend the Christmas function.

Currently, there are 82 LSC members.
