Slovenian timber houses are coming to London via a partnership involving Ireland-based Lignum Homes.
Construction work on three Riko detached houses will start in the capital during February.
The eco homes will feature Riko’s solid laminated timber exterior walls – an unusual build method in England.
Drogheda-based Lignum, Riko’s agent in Ireland and the UK, has already completed one project in Wexford and hopes to build five further houses in the Republic this year.
Marin Bradvica, of Lignum, said the buoyancy of the Irish housing sector and the ease of securing a mortgage made Ireland a good market for Riko.
He said: “The houses are generally a higher spec. All the material we are using is solid laminated timber.”
