Postsaver and Snows said sales and demand for the sleeved posts have been “exceptional” and showed “huge growth potential”.

Gerard Dickinson, head of commercial at Snows Timber, said Postsaver posts offer customers enhanced savings over the life of the fence while also widening the opportunity for better margins for both the company and its merchant/distributor customers.

Postsaver sleeved posts are now a part of Snow’s core fencing range and the company is considering ordering a new Pro-Shrink machine from Postsaver to increase its output of Postsaver sleeved posts.

Operating from a single-phase supply, the machine has a capacity of 180 posts/hour.

Meanwhile, Snows has also made changes at its Mansfield depot to keep up with demand.

The site has increased its operational hours to pick and mill more products – this is now being done on a new shift pattern where the team start earlier and finish later.

Snows said the benefit of these changes should be felt by its customers by the end of the year when product availability and delivery improve.
