Silver Creek’s appeal follows a district judge’s decision to reverse a federal government rule which gives more freedom for logging and industrial uses in remote national forests.

The government, which is considering an appeal, disagrees with the judge’s call for environmental impact statements on development in 58.5 million acres of roadless areas in national forests.
