Equipment supplier Siempelkamp is to deliver the world’s largest chipboard plant to Brazilian wood products manufacturer Duratex.

The deal, signed in June, involves Siempelkamp planning and engineering a forming and press line that includes a 9ft x 60.3m ContiRoll featuring press design 2, claimed to be the world’s longest press for a chipboard plant. This will have the capacity to produce more than 1 million m³ of board.

Also included in the deal will be two Buttner dryers, which are together designed to dry around 100 tons of particles an hour.

Completing the order will be an SHS cooling and stacking line, an SHS sanding line, and an inline saw and packing line.
