Latvian sawmilling group Sia Cord is commissioning its new sawmill at Tukums which will have an annual capacity of 50,000m3 on a single shift.
The sawmill will supply Forest Stewardship Council certified softwoods for carcassing, fencing and pallets, with on-site facilities for kiln drying, grading, planing, moulding, resawing and pressure treatment.
Mixed hardwoods will also be produced for pallets, along with birch for furniture frames.
The group also produces machine rounded and peeled agricultural fencing stakes and rails.
