Managing director Simon Shadbolt was interviewed by Ms Feltz on BBC Radio London about the company’s landmark “Veneer of the Week” sign which has fronted the busy North Circular Road outside the South Chingford factory for the past 25 years.
Mr Shadbolt told TTJ that Ms Feltz had been doing a celebration of how the sign had cheered motorists up on their daily journey to work. He said the programme had then turned into a bit of a wake when she found out the sign would be coming down due to the company’s move to Braintree.
Shadbolt’s “Veneer of the Week” this week is crown cut Canadian white elm.
