An office block at the Severn Timber Products factory was destroyed and other parts of the premises were damaged after a major fire at the Welshpool-based business at the weekend.
Managing director Alun Gape was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press, but according to BBC News reports the fire was discovered on Sunday afternoon.
Some 35 firefighters from Powys and Shropshire tackled the blaze which forced the closure of the Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury railway line and the Welshpool by-pass.
Fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
