Setra is to sell its Lövholmen sawmilling site to Sweden’s largest forest owner Sveaskog.

Sveaskog intends to use the Piteå facility to strengthen its bioenergy activities, including the development of new technologies for production of fuels based on forest raw materials.

“Setra will now continue the consolidation of its production activities in northern Sverige to the sawmills in Malå and Rolfs,” said Setra president and CEO Börje Bengtsson.

“Most of the mechanical equipment, including the sawing line, will be transferred to the group’s other facilities.”

The letter of intent includes sale of land, buildings and certain equipment.
