Setra has boosted manufacturing capacity for glulam products by half after completing improvements at its Långshyttan factory costing SKr20m.
The wood products company said the investment would help meet growing demand for glulam structures in housing and industry. A new scanner, cross-cut saw and improved laminate jointing will increase annual capacity to 50,000m³ within two years.
Spruce for the beams is sourced from the company’s Heby sawmill.
