Select Timber & MDF Products has won a £25,000 contract with Jewson for the supply of primed softwood architrave, skirting and door lining material.
The contract, involving 40,000m of white primed softwood architrave and skirting and 6,000m of white primed door lining material, sees the products being used in the conversion of an 11-storey office block to in-town accommodation in Harlow.
Delivery was scheduled in 11 batches so the builders could work on a floor-by-floor basis to assist with restricted site storage and to guarantee product was in good condition when required.
“Pre-primed timber is becoming increasingly popular with site managers, with the overall opinion being that factory applied paint has a more consistent paint cover along with evenness of opacity,” said Select managing direct David West.
Select’s two priming lines produce around 8 million metres of primed products annually.
