Scotts of Thrapston has invested about £250,000 in its business after experiencing record levels of roof truss business.

The company, which produces roof trusses, easi-joists, bespoke joinery, performance doors, summerhouses and outbuildings, said it had also “re-energised” relationships with its timber suppliers to improve the supply process and to ensure flexibility in meeting customer orders.

Scotts has installed a new Birch truss bed and created a dedicated transport fleet for transporting its trusses to the end user. As well as new lorries with reconditioned trailers, the company has also added materials handling equipment.

“As a business we are conscious of being flexible to respond to housebuilders’ needs for their ever demanding projects, whether big or small, and this investment will assist with this continued approach of bespoke fabrication at competitive prices,” said chairman David Scott.
