The Scottish Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology is to stage a series of events across Scotland to report on the findings of Napier University’s Forest Industries Recruitment and Retention Strategy (FIRRS) project.

The Clearing the Way for Women in Forestry and Construction events will see human resource professionals, employers, students and researchers discuss how to increase the number of women considering a career in the wood-related industries.

Funded by ConstructionSkills and the European Social Fund, FIRRS “aims to tell people about the forest and timber industry in the hope that better knowledge about it will mean more people considering careers related to it”.

The events will take place in Glasgow on November 1, Inverness on November 14, Dumfries on November 20 and Edinburgh on November 29.
