According to the latest statistics, group turnover climbed from £32.7m to £57.9m – partly as a result of three acquisitions which added more than £6m to its sales total. These included the purchase of HS Timber Products of Stoke-on-Trent in October 2004.

Family-owned STG has made approaching 20 acquisitions over the past six years and now employs around 700 staff at sites across the UK. Following the purchase of Huntingdon-based Crofton Pallets in April this year, STG managing director John Scott confirmed that the group’s annual sales were around £75m and that a turnover target of £150m had been set for the year 2009.
