An additional 2,500ft2 of workshop space acquired at the company’s Peffermill headquarters is to be used principally as a spray shop for its timber windows.
Meanwhile, the firm’s employee numbers are expected to rise over the course of this summer from around 50 to nearer 70.
According to managing director Robert Findlay, Laurence McIntosh is on course to increase turnover from around £3.5m in 2005 to £4.5m this year.
In addition to healthy orders from Edinburgh University and private clients, the company has won a £700,000 contract to replace more than 600 timber sash windows as part of the first phase of the redevelopment of Edinburgh’s old Royal Infirmary.
“Our work on site is expected to start by early August and will take us into early next year,” said Mr Findlay.
The company hopes to secure more window replacement work under the four remaining phases of the redevelopment project.
