The conference saw officials from Poland, Scandinavia, Germany, France and the UK take the trip to Dunkeld and discuss sustainability, carbon sinks, the Kyoto Protocol and the development of biomass strategies, as well as visiting Queen Elizabeth Forest Park to see how Forestry Commission Scotland operates.

Representatives from Sweden, Estonia, Ireland, Finland, Romania and the Czech Republic also delivered presentations on their respective forest industries, addressing resource management, manufacturing figures and the area-specific issues such as storms and droughts.

The next Conference of European State Forestry Organisations was also announced, with Poland the host in June 2008.
