SCA Timber AB has taken sole ownership of French solid wood sales company Les Bois de la Baltique.

SCA, which already owned two-thirds of the company, acquired the remainding third from Holmen AB.

The Swedish company said the move strengthens its presence and service in France, which it described as one of its most important markets for sawn timber.

It said it is growing its deliveries to French building material distributors and the DIY market is expanding fast.

About a third of Swedish sawn timber exports to France pass through Les Bois de la Baltique’s terminals at Rochefort-sur-Mer and Fecamp.
