SCA Timber Supply is marking a decade of providing customer training with a special seminar for previous students on its Timber Studies Awards courses.

The continuing professional development event, which will take place at the recently restored, wood-panelled Great Chamber in Sutton Coldfields’ New Hall, will look at future timber use under the title “Wood. For Buildings? For Biomass? Or…?”.

The company says that hundreds of people have taken its courses over the years.

The training programme was launched by SCA managing director Rob Simpson and he said he hoped as many previous graduates as possible would attend the anniversary event, which takes place from 4.30-7pm on November 9.

“We hope they will take this opportunity to be part of the very real debate on the use of wood resources,” he said. “It’s also a chance to network with others from different parts of the trade and learn from each other’s experiences.”

Places at the seminar are limited, so SCA urges all those interested in attending to contact Kay Foster at its head office as soon as possible at kay.foster@sca.com.
