SCA has made 11 employees redundant at its Tunadal sawmill due to the recent SKr100m investment in new kilns at the facility.

The kilns are seen as an important step in the development of Tunadal into a competitive sawmill in the “European top league”.

“Unfortunately new technology often leads to reduced need of staff,” said Jerry Larsson, Tunadal sawmill manager. “We will seek the best possible solutions for the employees concerned.”

Mr Larsson said SCA was making an ongoing investment of SKr210m in a new automated sorting mill.
