The acquisition (ttjonline March 6) follows ratification from the main international SCA Group board.
“This is an important acquisition for SCA Timber,” said Ulf Larsson, SCA group president.
“We have a strong position as a supplier to the British consumer market, particularly the DIY sector. Through this acquisition we will further strengthen our position as a supplier to builders’ merchant customers,” he said.
Severn has a capacity of 60,000m3 of planed products and produces 10,000m3 of treated timber products, with annual sales of £12m.
