Bradford-based Sash Windows has invested in state-of-the-art technology from SCM Group for its range of bespoke timber doors, windows, conservatories and orangeries.

The company’s new facilities include SCM’s Windor 20, a CNC machining centre for window frames designed to provide versatile, fast production with a minimum of downtime.

SCM has also supplied and installed its Superset XL, an automatic throughfeed planer moulder with a SETUP system that is claimed to make set-up times up to 20 times faster at component changeover.

Sash Windows director Julian Payton said the company’s “consistent delivery of high quality” had been key to its success. “Our new manufacturing resources from SCM take this consistency to an even higher level while enabling us to provide a faster turnaround for customers’ orders,” he said.

Colin Simmons, area sales manager for SCM’s solid wood range, said Sash Windows was one of the first British companies of its type to invest in SCM technology. “We are delighted to have established a direct partnership through which we provide full installation, training and guaranteed ongoing service to maintain operational efficiency,” said Mr Simmons.
