The Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation is exploring ways to help promote furniture makers.
The corporation says the state’s wooden furniture industry has “tremendous potential”, with exports accounting for just M$24.5m in 2001, compared to M$80m in Sabah and M$3.3bn in Peninsular Malaysia.
One idea is to help companies showcase their products at furniture exhibitions throughout the country.
