Sales of TJI joists helped CR Taylor grow its turnover by 60% in 2004.
The Denholme-based company, a Trus Joist Master Dealer (TTJ August 21/28, 2004), says it has seen a rapid growth in the use of engineered joists among its customer base in the housebuilding, refurbishment, light commercial and timber frame sectors.
The achievement comes on the back of an 80% sales growth in 2003.
But Paul Amphlett, the company’s Silent Floor product manager, said there is a skills shortage in the industry. He said CR Taylor has been trying to recruit a third designer for several months.
Future investment will include a second cross-cut line.
