A forum on safety at work is to be a key feature of the International forestry exhibition, Interforst 2002, at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre July 3-7.
The forum will look at how the 10,000 accidents that occur in European forestry every year could be reduced using improved technology, better working techniques and management and control methods.
The number of fatalities among every 1,000 reported forestry accidents is around three times as high building work, which is regarded as the most dangerous commercial activity.
