Two wall products have been developed by Södra to work alongside its floor system, SödraSemi.
The company intends to introduce the products to the UK market in the near future.
Johan Karlsson of Södra Building Systems said: “Together with our floor system they will increase the quality of timber frame houses and make it more competitive with other materials.”
One of the products, SödraSinus, can be used as a divider between rooms and offices. The wall is constructed with SödraSinus studs that feature the company’s unique slots for sound insulation. A 70mm stud with 30mm insulation and a double layer of 12.5mm chipboard on each side gives an airborne sound reduction of 54dB.
The other new product is a prefabricated party wall which the company says is revolutionary as it is built in one framework. Mr Karlsson says this improves speed of erection and makes the room area more efficient as the wall is only 236mm thick.
