Russia is to stage an international conference addressing the role of forests in climate management.

The Role of Forests in Climate Management: Research – Innovations – Investments – Capacity Building is to take place in St Petersburg on October 4-7.

It will look at developing the global role of the forestry sector in mitigating climate change, and what is being done on a national and international level to drive this.

This includes technological innovations and financial mechanisms/investment partnerships.

The four-day conference will include sessions and seminars on innovations and the latest research and develop methodological and practical recommendations for priority areas of international co-operation on forests and climate.
