The company, which operates seven sawmills, saw its capacity utilisation increase to 308,000m3 (2011: 271,000m3), with annual production projected at 695,000m3 from an installed capacity of 950,000m3.

Sales were up to SKr850m from SKr749m a year ago.

Rörvik said the normal price rise for exported sawn timber in the second quarter did not materialise, though it noted improved markets in North African and the US.

The sawmills in Boxholm, Myresjö and Tvärskog increased their production to two shifts from April, which was made possible through increased access to imported raw material mainly from Russia.

It said the price of locally-sourced raw material was still too high.

But Rörvik believes it can take advantage of an improvement in sawmilling market conditions and growing output up to the intalled capacity level.

An investment at the Tranemo mill during the period increased its pressure treatment capacity by 50% to about 90,000m3.
