A seminar to investigate ways of stimulating and promoting the sound use of wood as a renewable and environmentally friendly material will be held in Poiana Brasov, Romania on March 24-28, 2003.
The UN-ECE timber committee, the FAO European Forestry Commission and the government of Romania have convened the event in response to a call on governments from the UN Intergovernmental Forum on Forests to explore wood promotion strategies.
Themes will include promotion of wood, new markets, communication with consumers and the public, and certification, e-commerce and standards.
