Elevated first floor decks will ensure the owners of new executive homes in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire will be able to make the most of the sea views.
Developer Stewart Milne is building eight detached split-level villas on a sloping site and each incorporates first floor decking from Richard Burbidge leading off the main living area.
The system had to be suitable for elevated installations – and also have aesthetic appeal. Richard Burbidge supplied both the deckboards and its round balustrading system which is designed and manufactured specifically for decking installations more than 600mm above ground level.
The round balustrading system has been strength tested by TRADA to conform with the additional requirements for elevated decks and features a 1100mm high handrail for improved safety and galvanised metal handrail brackets for added strength.
The round system, which is of Deck Mark quality and is pressure treated with Osmose Naturewood, comprises round spindles, round handrail, round newel, flat capping rail and galvanised round handrail bracket.
