Revenue from Sabah’s forestry sector is forecast to improve next year according to the state government.

Chief minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the government will endeavour to curb illegal logging to ensure royalties can be collected.

He said: “There are some areas still available for logging in accordance with the state forestry regulations.”

Around RM339.56m from the total projected revenue of RM1,505.94m will come from the forestry sector compared to RM305.20m in 2004.
