But recently, a growing part of its business has comprised sales of moisture measurement meters and new developments here were also a major show focus.

“We’ve almost been surprised at our growth in this area,” said sales manager Andreas Ruf. “Meters are now a very important part of the business.”

The company’s latest models are the small, hand-held LCD display Easy plus and brand new Easy comfort ranges which start at e125.

“Hand-held meters are now so accurate they are all most users, who include builders and surveyors as well as timber professionals, need,” said Mr Ruf. “They’ve attracted a lot of interest at the show. In fact we’ve sold them off the stand.”

The meters, he said, can be used on 34 different materials and, for timber, are accurate to +/-0.5%. They use standard AAA batteries and can run for over a year before these need changing.

The Easy comfort offers temperature compensation with infra red measurement.

Also at the show, Bes Bollman was highlighting its remote kiln monitoring service.
