The findings of a research project on key performance indicators (KPI) for the timber industry will be unveiled in a series of workshops staged by the Business Solutions Group of TRADA Technology Ltd.
The eight half-day workshops, to be held in October, will reveal the KPIs, plus tools developed to allow companies to measure their peformance against their industry and/or sector.
Timber KPIs identified include staff product knowledge, customer satisfaction, and health and safety.
A survey to help build the customer satisfaction KPI covered 5,500 customers of 16 timber companies. Other sector-specific indicators have been identified for importers, the truss rafter industry and joiners.
The workshops will be run in association with research partners the Builders Merchants Federation, British Woodworking Federation and the Trussed Rafter Association, starting on October 2 at the Forest of Mercia Innovation Centre, Cannock.
