Forestry Commission England has appointed new leaders for forestry advisory committees in the East Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Dr Chris Gill, chairman of TTL Chiltern Group Ltd and a TRADA board member, will chair the East Midlands committee, while Jeremy Walker, chair of the Yorkshire Regional Flood Defence Committee, a self-employed policy consultant and former chief executive of North Yorkshire County Council, will lead the Yorkshire and Humber committee.

The committees play an important role in the preparation of regional forestry frameworks, which provide the primary policy drivers for the Commission’s work in each region and will also guide the regional implementation of the government’s Strategy for England’s Trees, Woods and Forests.
