The 2350x1490mm panels are supplemented by 48m3 of rainscreen cladding boards, also supplied by John Brash, which will help prolong the service life of the western red cedar, according to the timber firm.

John Brash has said that the use of western red cedar should give the cladding a 60-year service life as the timber used in the building is “durable and resistant to decay”.

The use of timber cladding has also been combined with fluorescent fittings that are visible through the angled slats to create “a striking effect”, John Brash has stated.
