A record 150,000 visitors attended this year’s Royal Highland Show at Ingliston, Edinburgh with many from the forestry sector.
For the second year running the Scottish Forest Industries Cluster (SFIC) hosted a stand with Forestry Commission Scotland. The theme was sustainable construction and products from MDF to I-joists were on display.
A central feature was a partial reproduction of a timber holiday cabin built by Stewart Milne Timber Systems (SMTS). Product for the cabin was supplied by James Jones & Sons and Nexfor.
SMTS also provided a timber frame structure for an active display of timber cladding. Cladding for the demonstrations was produced by Trevor Bechtel and his mobile sawmill in the Forestry Arena.
