Rörvik Timber AB is to temporarily close its sawmill in Linghem, Sweden.

The downturn in construction markets, instability in financial markets and disparity between the cost of timber and raw materials has led the company to take the decision to cut production at Linghem, chief executive officer Per Rodert said.

Rorvik has recently completed downtime at all its sawmills, and has put in place cuts in shift patterns at its Boxholm and Tvärskog sites, reducing from three to two and two to one respectively,

The Linghem facility had a planned production of 50,000m³ for 2009, but production will stop immediately.
