Q-Mark for Suppliers will be a mandatory requirement in future procurement by UKTFA timber frame manufacturers and will apply to a range of companies, including providers of timber-based products, engineered wood products, ventilation and insulation products, software suppliers and specialist consultants to the industry.
UKTFA chief executive Brian Woodley said: “The incorporation of the supply chain within our long-standing Q-Mark scheme makes it the only fully integrated quality assurance scheme in the construction sector. At a time of unprecedented growth in the timber frame market this is our credible means of standardising and maintaining high levels of quality products and services.”
Initially the scheme will cover the key structural categories of timber, plasterboard, sheathing materials, engineered wood products and fixings before being extended over the year.”
