Contract Notices for the new Timber Window and Door Products (TW3) framework arrangement set up by public sector procurement consortium LHC were published this week. A spokesperson for the LHC said it would give timber product manufacturers and suppliers the chance to bid for a share of the millions spent by the public sector in this area, which last year totalled £21m.

Companies approved for the framework could open doors for successful bidders to win contracts with local authorities, housing associations and other public bodies in England, Wales and Scotland, said LHC director John Skivington. Companies can download the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire published this week.

"This is a fantastic opportunity for timber window and door companies of all sizes to win a share of this valuable market. The tendering process will identify suitable contractors who will be appointed on a regional basis, and promoted to LHC’s database of member and user contacts," said Mr Skivington.

"These bodies can have budgets of up to £60m to spend on components and services each year, with a total of £21m being spent on LHC window and door products last year."
