Norske Skog, one of the world’s major forest products firms, has attributed a big profit increase to its takeover of Fletcher Challenge.

The firm logged profits of NKr2.2bn in 2000, up from NKr1.32bn in 1999.

Operating profits rose from NKr2.13bn in 1999 to NKr4.2bn last year. Revenue also soared, with the firm expecting growth to continue.
