The International Wood Products Association is to investgate the reasons behind the recent ballooning of US softwood imports.

Its annual convention – to be held April 17-19, 2002, in Indian Wells, California – is to feature a keynote address by former Georgia-Pacific manager of international operations, Donald Schramm. He will look at the growth of imports of softwood plywood, softwood lumber and softwood mouldings.

After his general overview, Mr Schramm will head a panel discussion that will look at the US products affected most by imports, regulatory issues and the expected future impact on the US market.

IWPA’s annual convention is expected will have more than 250 delegates and guests from more than 15 countries.
