Premier Forest Products has discovered that its imported softwood and sheet timber products have been used to build sets on film blockbusters such as Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings.
The Newport-based company recently found out through merchant customers that products have been snapped up by Pinewood, Shepperton and Elstree Studios. Set designers for television hospital drama Casualty have also used products.
Director Nigel Williams said he welcomed “an injection of Hollywood excitement” in a trade which he admitted wasn’t known for its glamour.
