Volume door manufacturer Premdor has made a final decision to relocate its Swindon sales office to Barnsley after concluding a 30-day consultation with affected employees.
The company will embark on a phased move to be completed in April 2011, resulting in 30 people losing their jobs at Swindon and 25 new staff being recruited to work at Premdor’s main Barnsley site.
Premdor drew up the move in response to tough economic conditions, in order to maximise the efficiency at all its operations and make each facility work for the overall good of the company.
The company expects a slight improvement in the market next year.
