Richard George, director of the Gloucestershire-based company, told TTJ the sales performance was an improvement on the previous annual doubling of sales.

He pointed to recent successes such as major UK fruit grower Hugh Lowe Farms, which operates on about 500ha of land in Kent, now using Postsaver, while mid-Wales sawmill customer Llandre Sawn Wood is to order a second Postsaver application machine.

Llandre Sawn Wood installed a Postsaver Pro-Mill application machine last December and had already sold 22,000 sleeved posts by early January.

"Growth has been so strong that after only a few months of selling Postsaver sleeved posts we are already running out of capacity and are now looking to order a second Pro-Mill machine to increase our capacity to 1,000 posts an hour," said Gary Price of Llandre Sawn Wood.

The sawmiller is applying 500 sleeves onto posts per hour and running on extended shifts to keep up with demand. The second Pro-Mill will double the output.

Mr Price said the product now accounted for the majority of its post sales.

Meanwhile, Postsaver said it is also experiencing growth with its Polesaver business, which focuses on the utility pole sector.
