Pope & Talbot Inc has completed the acquisition of the Fort St James sawmill from Canfor Corporation for C$39m.
The deal gives Pope & Talbot an annual allowable cut of 640,000m3 from the neighbouring timber supply area.
The sawmill has an annual capacity of 250 million boad feet, and Pope & Talbot’s total lumber production capacity is now planned to exceed one billion board feet a year at its five mills.
