The forest district will use Timbeter’s technology and machine learning for measurements, and digital reporting during the pilot project. It will also use Timbeter’s cloud storage solution to save all the information in digital form, which gives a real time overview of measurements made in different parts of the district by different officials.

The pilot project aims to assess the wider use of Timbeter, created by an Estonian startup technology company, in Polish state forest operations. The apps, which are already available in Polish, is said to minimise waste, maximise the material cut from each log and make forestry operations more transparent and efficient.

“There is a need for increasing the efficiency of daily operations performed in the forestry sector all over the world, as well as a requirement for centralization of data for timber management and oversight of operations,” said Anna-Greta Tsahkna, CEO of Timbeter.

“Timbeter enables state forests and companies around the world to bring transparency and traceability to the whole supply chain and minimize possible errors”.
