A timber mill fire in south-east Australia which caused about A$500,000 worth of damage may have been the work of arsonists.

Police investigating the blaze at Carter Holt Harvey‘s storage building in Mount Gambier say it could have been deliberately lit. A quantity of timber was destroyed in the fire.

Firecrews asked the company to bring in fork lift trucks and other equipment to pull out partially burnt 5m-high stacks of timber.
