Milton Keynes-based Pace worked closely with Higgins Construction to provide a timber frame solution for a three-storey block of flats and four two-storey houses at the £1.25m Ibscott Close development in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.

The fast track erection, which included cassette floors and roof structures, involved the craning in of 4m2 bathroom pods, incorporating factory-installed WC, bath, washbasin, tiles, plumbing and radiator. The pods were built to comply with Lifetime Homes’ standards.

“Given that the main architects on Ibscott Close, Hunter and Partners had earmarked this as an ideal scheme for bathroom pods in order to assess their benefits, it made perfect sense to partner with Pace as they could supply the whole kit of parts,” said a spokesperson for Higgins Construction.
