Finland’s Schauman Wood Oy in conjunction with Russian company Novgorodlesprom plans to build a €16.3m plant in Russia’s Novgorod region to produce thin birch veneer sheets.
Annual capacity is forecast to be about 7,500m3 of veneer and turnover will amount to €12m. The veneer will be used as a finishing material in the production of top of the range furniture.
